Icebreakers for eGroup Leaders
Hey eGroup leaders! Listed below are some icebreakers that you may want to use in your eGroup. These icebreakers are specifically designed for those new to an eGroup, or to start off a group before you get into the discussion questions or group material. They range from asking favorite movies to sharing information about yourself with one another. Feel free to add some of your own icebreakers in order to lighten the atmosphere and create a comfortable environment for these new members.
- What is a color that fits your mood today?
- If you could spend the afternoon with someone famous, who would you choose and why?
- If you could have any talent, what talent would you choose?
- If you could eat at only one restaurant for the rest of your life, what restaurant would you choose?
- Who is your favorite Worship Leader at Elevation Church?
- If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?
- If you had to watch one movie over and over again for 24 hours straight, what movie would you watch?
- What is your favorite band of all time? Book? Author? Song?
- What is one interesting fact about yourself that no one in the room knows?
- What did you want to be when you were growing up?
- Name one thing you really like about yourself.
- What's the strangest food you've ever eaten?
- Ask your group members to make a list of everything that is on their minds. They don't have to write sentences about it; just simply a word (Ex. work, children, relationships, etc.). Â Afterwards, ask them to go back to their list and write a word beside each word of the original list that describes how they are feeling about that particular thing.
- Pass a bag of M&Ms around and ask your group members to take some. Don't tell them how many or why. Simply ask them to take as many as they want and that everyone should take a least one. When everyone has chosen their M&Ms have them share as many facts about themselves as they have M&Ms.
- Two truths and a lie: Each person has to tell at least one lie and two truths about him or herself. Then the group has to guess which statement was a lie.
