Choosing your 2026 Word

As we close out 2025, remember it’s God who shapes our future as we trust Him with what’s ahead. The words we write, pray, and believe carry power because they help align our hearts with what God is already doing. That’s why we take time at the end of each year to choose a word that represents what we’re believing God will do in the next.

December 14 is our Year-End Offering Sunday — a time for our church to bring our offerings to God and write down a word that captures our faith for 2026.

This isn’t just a personal practice. It’s something your whole family can be part of. Each family member might choose an individual word and you choose a word for your family. Or maybe you pick a family word together. Whatever you do, it’s a simple way to look ahead with faith and expectation.

Here are some questions to get your family talking:

FAMILY QUESTIONS

  • Is there something our family wants to get better at this year?

  • What do we want our family to be known for?

  • Where is God calling our family to be more like Him?

  • What’s a word that would make God happy?

ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS

  • Read Galatians 5:22-23. What’s one fruit of the Spirit you want to grow in this next year?

  • Is there a way you want to be more like Jesus this year? What word describes that?

  • What’s a word that reminds you to love and serve people like Jesus does?
