The Miracle Worker
Before the cross and the empty tomb, Jesus was already showing people exactly who He is.
The prophets said the Messiah would do what only God could do: give sight to the blind, heal the sick, bring freedom to the broken, and even defeat death. So when Jesus healed, fed crowds, calmed storms, and raised the dead, He wasn’t just helping people; He was doing exactly what the prophets said the Messiah would do, confirming He was the One they had been waiting for.
Every miracle answered the question people were asking: Could this really be the One God promised?
That’s why Jesus’ miracles matter as we approach Easter and why we should share these stories with our kids. The same Jesus who showed authority over sickness, nature, and fear willingly laid down His life and rose again. The resurrection wasn’t a surprise. It was the ultimate sign that Jesus truly is the Messiah.
So how do we talk about this miracle and others at home?
Keep it simple. Remember that miracles show us who Jesus is.
Make space for questions. If your kids ask, “Did what really happen?” don’t panic. Curiosity is a good thing. You could say, “That’s a great question. The Bible tells us ‘All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching’ (2 Timothy 3:16). That means we can trust what God says is true and these miracles help us see who Jesus really is.”
Connect to their world. Ask, “What does this miracle tell us about Jesus and how much He cares for us today?”
