What We Are Learning In Babies :: January Week 4
We’re Learning… I can love like Jesus.
Bible Story: A Short Man (Zacchaeus) ● Luke 19:1-10
As a family, read “A Short Man (Zacchaeus)” in Luke 19:1-10 from a children’s Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)
After reading the Bible story, complete the activity together:
Response Activity:
Activity Supplies: None
Say, “Let’s learn some ways we can love others like Jesus does!”
Read each prompt below and encourage your toddler to respond.
“You can love like Jesus by sharing with your friends. Let’s pretend to share a toy!”
“You can love like Jesus by comforting your friends when they get hurt. Pretend to comfort a friend and give yourself a BIG hug!”
“You can love like Jesus by being kind to others, even when they aren’t nice to you. Say the name of someone you can be kind to!”
“You can love like Jesus by helping your parents clean the house. Pretend to clean up your toys!”
“You can love like Jesus by praying for your friends. Let’s say a prayer for our friends!”
After the activity, say, “Great job! Who can love like Jesus?” and encourage your toddler to say, “I can love like Jesus!”
Then lead your toddler in prayer:
“Dear Jesus, thank You for loving us! Please help us love others the way You do. We love You. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
📚ADD TO YOUR LIBRARY 📚
In addition to reading stories from the Bible each Sunday, we also read a book together that reinforces what we’re learning. This month, we’re reading “If Jesus Lived Inside My Heart.” If you’re looking for a faith-based book to add to your child’s library at home, you can learn more about this month’s book HERE!
