What We Are Learning In Elementary :: April Week 2
April Overview: It’s great to have friends — and Jesus is the best friend we could ever have! He never leaves us, knows what’s best for us, and will always love us.
As a family, read “Jesus Restores Peter” (John 21:15-19) together. Then, watch this week’s lesson video on the eKidz Online YouTube page to continue the conversation.
Bible Story: Jesus Restores Peter (John 21:15-19)
Main Point: Jesus is a friend who never leaves us.
Memory Verse: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13
This week, kids learned about Peter, one of Jesus’ closest friends, who made a big mistake by denying he knew Jesus. Even though Peter failed, Jesus didn’t walk away from him. Instead, Jesus forgave him, encouraged him, and reminded him he still had a purpose. This story shows us Jesus is the kind of friend who stays with us — even when we mess up. He never gives up on us, and we can always come back to Him.
💬 Family discussion questions:
What mistake did Peter make, and how do you think he felt afterward?
How did Jesus treat Peter after Peter messed up?
What does this story show us about the kind of friend Jesus is?
🕰 Engage in everyday moments together this week:

While You’re At Home: Share about a time you messed up but knew Jesus forgave you.
As You’re On The Way: Ask, “Why is it so amazing to have a friend who never leaves us?”
When You Lie Down: Pray, “Jesus, thank You for never leaving us. Thank You for loving us even when we mess up.”
