February Overview: God’s love for us is more than just an encouragement or a warm feeling — His love changes how we live, including the choices we make every day.

Scripture: Mark 4:35-41 (Jesus Calms the Storm)
Focus: Jesus was with His disciples during the storm and showed we can trust Him to be with us when things are scary.
Bottom Line: Jesus is with me, so I can trust Him when I’m scared.
Application: When I feel afraid, I can trust Jesus and remember He is with me.

In this week’s lesson, kids will hear the story of Jesus calming the storm while the disciples were afraid. Even though the wind and waves felt overwhelming, Jesus was right there with them the whole time. He never left. This story helps kids understand that fear doesn’t mean Jesus is far away. When children remember that Jesus is powerful and is always with them, they can trust Him in moments when they feel scared, worried, or unsure.

💬 Family discussion questions:

  1. Why do you think the disciples were so afraid?

  2. What did Jesus do to help them?

  3. When we feel scared, what can we do to trust Jesus and remember He’s with us?

🕰 Engage in everyday moments together this week:

  • When You Get Up: Remind your child, “No matter what today brings, Jesus is with you.”

  • While You’re At Home: Talk about a time you were afraid and how Jesus helped you feel brave or like you weren’t alone.

  • As You’re On The Way: Together, come up with a simple prayer for when you feel nervous or unsure. For example, “Jesus, help me trust You.”

  • When You Lie Down: Pray, “Jesus, thank You for being with us all the time. Help us trust You when we’re scared.”
