June Overview: Summer is full of adventure, and sometimes adventure feels uncertain. Throughout this series, kids are learning that no matter what they face — fear, sadness, doubt, or loneliness — God is faithful. We may not always know what’s ahead, but we can trust the One who does. God’s got this!

Bible Story: Psalm 13 (David)
Main Point: When I’m sad, I can trust God.
Memory Verse: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 (NIV)

As a family, read the Bible story together. Then, watch this week’s lesson video on the eKidz Online YouTube page to continue the conversation.

This week, kids learned about a time when David felt really sad. Instead of hiding how he felt, David talked to God about his sadness. But he didn’t stop there — he chose to remember God still loved him and cared for him. This story helps us see that trusting God when we’re sad doesn’t mean pretending everything is okay. It means talking to God about how we really feel and choosing to believe He is still with us and still good.

💬 Family discussion questions:

  1. What did David do when he felt sad?

  2. Why is it important to talk to God about how we feel?

  3. What is something that has made you feel sad, and how can you trust God with it?

🕰 Engage in everyday moments together this week:

  • When You Get Up: Tell your kid, “No matter how you feel today, you can talk to God and trust Him.”

  • While You’re At Home: Share about a time you felt sad and how God helped you through it.

  • As You’re On The Way: Ask, “What are some ways we can talk to God when we’re having a hard day?”

  • When You Lie Down: Pray, “God, thank You that we can come to You with every feeling. Help us trust You when we’re sad and remember You are always with us. We love You. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.”
