What We Are Learning In Elementary :: March Week 1
March Overview: Jesus’ miracles weren’t just amazing moments — they showed who He is, revealing His greatness and power.
As a family, read “Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand” (Matthew 14:13-21) together. Then, watch this week’s lesson video on the eKidz Online YouTube page to continue the conversation.
Bible Story: Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand (Matthew 14:13-21)
Big Idea: Jesus is greater than what we don’t have.
Memory Verse: “Lord, there is no one like you! You are great, and your name is full of power.” Jeremiah 10:6 (NLT)
This week, kids heard about a huge crowd of people who were hungry — and there were only five loaves of bread and two fish to feed them. It didn’t seem like enough. But when the little that was available was placed in Jesus’ hands, He multiplied it and fed everyone. This story helps us understand that Jesus is powerful and able to provide, even when what we see feels small or not enough. We can trust Him with whatever we have.
💬 Family discussion questions:
Why did the disciples think there wasn’t enough food?
What did Jesus do with the little boy’s lunch?
How can we trust Jesus when we feel like we don’t have enough of something?
🕰 Engage in everyday moments together this week:
When You Get Up: Tell your kid, “Jesus is greater than anything we might not have today.”
While You’re At Home: Talk about something that seemed small at first but turned into something great.
As You’re On The Way: Ask, “What’s something you’re worried won’t be enough this week?” Pray about it together.
When You Lie Down: Pray, “Jesus, thank You that You are greater than what we don’t have. Help us trust You when we feel like we don’t have enough.”
