What We Are Learning In Preschool :: April Week 2
April Overview: Preschoolers will learn Jesus is alive and wants to be their friend. Jesus didn’t just come long ago — He is with us now. Through true Bible stories, kids will see that Jesus loves them, helps them, and wants to be with them. Jesus is the best friend ever!
As a family, read “Jesus Restores Peter” (John 21:15-19) together. Then, watch this week’s lesson video on the eKidz Online YouTube page to continue the conversation.
Bible Story: Jesus Restores Peter (John 21:15-19)
Main Point: Jesus is always with me.
Memory Verse: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." John 15:13
This week, children heard about Jesus and His friend Peter. Peter had made a mistake and felt sad, but Jesus lovingly talked with him and reminded him that he was still His friend. This story helps us understand that Jesus is always with us, no matter what we do!
💬 Family discussion questions:
What happened in the Bible story? (Jesus’ friends were fishing but hadn’t caught anything until Jesus helped them. Then Jesus made breakfast and showed Peter that He still loved him, even when Peter had made a mistake and felt sad.)
Even though Peter made a mistake, Jesus still loved and cared about him. He was always with Peter because He is the best friend ever. Is Jesus always with us too? (yes)
🕰 Engage in everyday moments together this week:
When You Get Up: When your child wakes up, say, “Good morning! No matter what happens today, remember Jesus is the best friend ever, and He is always with you!”
While You’re At Home: Play hide-and-seek with your child. After you find each other, say, “That was fun! We had to find each other in this game, but Jesus is ALWAYS with you. He never leaves you. He’s the best friend ever!”
As You’re On The Way: As you drive or walk, hold hands or stay close and say, “We’re together right now and Jesus is always with you too, wherever you go. That’s what makes Him the best friend ever!”
When You Lie Down: At bedtime, remind your child, “Jesus is always with you, no matter what.” Then pray together, “Dear Jesus, thank You for always being with us. We’re thankful You’re the best friend ever, and You love us no matter what we do. In Your name we pray, amen.”
