April Overview: After Easter, preschoolers will learn that Jesus is alive and wants to be their friend. Jesus didn’t just come long ago — He is with us now. Through true Bible stories, kids will see that Jesus loves them, helps them, and wants to be with them. Jesus is the best friend ever!

As a family, read Jesus Eats with Sinners (Luke 5:27-32) together. Then, watch this week’s lesson video on the eKidz Online YouTube page to continue the conversation.

Bible Story: Jesus Eats with Sinners (Luke 5:27-32)
Main Point: Jesus always loves me.
Memory Verse: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." John 15:13

This week, children heard how Jesus spent time with people others didn’t think were important. Even when others didn’t understand, Jesus chose to sit with them and show them love. This story helps us understand that Jesus always loves us, no matter what!

💬 Family discussion questions:

  1. What happened in the Bible story? (Jesus chose to spend time with Levi and his friends, even though others didn’t think they were important. Jesus showed them love!)

  2. Jesus chose to love people no matter what they did. Does Jesus always love you too, no matter what you do? (yes)

🕰 Engage in everyday moments together this week:

  • When You Get Up: When your child wakes up, say, “When your child wakes up, say, “Good morning! Remember, Jesus always loves you no matter what. That’s what makes Him the best friend EVER!”

  • While You’re At Home: Sit with your child and look through photos of family or friends, or draw simple pictures of people you love. As you do, say, “Jesus loves everyone no matter what, and He loves you too!”

  • As You’re On The Way: As you drive or walk, play a simple game by pointing out people you see (e.g., at the store, in the car, walking, etc.). For each person, say, “Jesus loves them!” Then end by saying, “And Jesus always loves you, no matter what!.”

  • When You Lie Down: At bedtime, ask your child, “When did you feel loved today?” Remind them, “Jesus always loves you.” Then pray together, “Dear Jesus, thank You for being the best friend ever, and for always loving us. Please help us remember You love us no matter what. We love You! In Your name we pray, amen.”
