What We Are Learning In Preschool :: August Week 1
August Overview: This month, preschoolers will discover that God helps us grow to be more like Him! As they learn about the Fruit of the Spirit, they'll see they can show God to others through the way they live.
Bible Story: David and Mephibosheth (2 Samuel 9:1-13)
Main Point: God is LOVE! I can show love.
Memory Verse: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control." Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT)
As a family, read the Bible story together. Then, watch this week’s lesson video on the eKidz Online YouTube page to continue the conversation.
This week, children learned how David showed love to Mephibosheth by welcoming him into his home and caring for him, even when he didn't have to. David's kindness reminds us of God's great love for us. Because God is love, He helps us show love to others through the way we care, help, and share.
💬 Family discussion questions:

When You Get Up: Tell your child, "Today is a great day to show God's love! Who do you think you could show love to today?"
While You’re At Home: Look for ways to show love as a family, like sharing a snack or helping clean up. Say, "We are choosing to love each other with our actions!"
As You’re On The Way: As you drive or walk, point out people you see and ask, "What are some ways we could show God's love to people around us?"
When You Lie Down: Ask your child, "How did you show love today?" As you drive or walk, point out people you see and ask, "What are some ways we could show God's love to people around us?"
