What We Are Learning In Preschool :: August Week 5

August Overview: This month, preschoolers will discover that God helps us grow to be more like Him! As they learn about the Fruit of the Spirit, they'll see they can show God to others through the way they live.

Bible Story: David Shares After Victory (1 Samuel 30:9-31)
Main Point: Preschool: God is KIND! I can show kindness.
Memory Verse: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control." Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT)

This week, children learned that after God helped David win the battle, David shared what he had with others. David chose kindness instead of keeping everything for himself. God is kind, and He helps us show kindness too. We can show God to others by helping, sharing, and caring for the people around us.

🕰 Engage in everyday moments together this week:

  • When You Get Up: Tell your child, "Today is a great day to show kindness!" Ask, "Who could you help or encourage today?"

  • While You’re At Home: Look for a way to practice kindness together by sharing a toy, helping with a chore, making a card, or doing something thoughtful for a family member. Remind your child, "Kindness helps others see what God is like."

  • As You’re On The Way: As you drive or walk, notice people who might need encouragement — a crossing guard, cashier, neighbor, or friend. Talk about simple ways your family can show kindness to them.

  • When You Lie Down: Before bed, ask, "How did you show kindness today?" Thank God for His kindness and ask Him to help your family keep showing His kindness to others every day.
