What We Are Learning In Preschool :: February Week 1
Main Point: Jesus loves me.
Bible Story: Jesus Welcomes the Children • Mark 10:13-16
Memory Verse: “Jesus said, ‘Let the children come to me.’” Matthew 19:14 (NLT)
As a family, read “Jesus Welcomes the Children” (Mark 10:13-16) from the Bible. CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.
After reading the Bible story, discuss these questions together:
What happened in the Bible story? (Some families brought their children to see Jesus. The disciples tried to stop them, but Jesus told the children to come to Him.)
Jesus showed the children how much God loves them. Does Jesus show us God’s love? (yes)
This week, engage in everyday moments to continue the conversation:
When You Get Up: When your child wakes up, give them a hug and say, “Good morning! Did you know Jesus loves you so much? You are important to Him!”
While You’re At Home: Practice the memory verse together:
“Jesus said, (point up with both hands)
‘Let the children (motion out to others)
come to me.’” (make a “come here” motion with your hands)
Matthew 19:14 (open hands like a Bible)
As You’re On The Way: As you ride or walk, point out people you see and say, “Jesus loves everyone, and He loves you!”
When You Lie Down: At bedtime, cuddle with your child, open your Bible, and read Matthew 19:14. Then pray, “Dear Jesus, thank You for loving us. We’re so thankful You show us God’s love. Please help us always remember how much You love us. In Your name we pray, amen.”
