July Overview: This month, preschoolers will learn God is with them and makes them strong. When they feel afraid, sad, or alone, they can trust God and go. God helps them take their next step!

Bible Story: God Is With Gideon (Judges 6-7)
Main Point: When I'm afraid, I trust God and go!
Memory Verse: "The Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

As a family, read the Bible story together. Then, watch this week’s lesson video on the eKidz Online YouTube page to continue the conversation.

This week, children heard how Gideon felt afraid when God asked him to do something hard. Gideon didn't feel strong enough, but God reminded him that He would be with him. This story helps us understand that when we feel afraid, we can trust God and go because He gives us strength and helps us move forward.

💬 Family discussion questions:

  1. What happened in the Bible story? (God asked Gideon to do something hard, and Gideon felt afraid, but God was with him.)

  2. Did God stay with Gideon when he was afraid? (yes)

  3. When you feel afraid, can you trust God and go? (yes)

🕰 Engage in everyday moments together this week:

  • When You Get Up: When your child wakes up, say, "What's one thing you're doing today?" If it feels a little scary or new, remind them, "God makes you strong and helps you take your next step."

  • While You’re At Home: Create a simple "brave challenge" for your child, like cleaning up a toy, trying a new food, or helping a sibling. Celebrate their effort by saying, "You trusted God and went for it!"

  • As You’re On The Way: As you drive or walk, talk about a time when you had to do something that felt scary. Explain how God helped you keep going, and remind your child that He helps them too.

  • When You Lie Down: At bedtime, ask, "What brave thing did you do today?" Thank God together for helping your child take steps forward, even when they felt nervous.
