March Overview: Jesus did big, amazing things because He is God’s Son! He is powerful, and He loves us so much. This month, preschoolers will hear true stories from the Bible to learn about how great Jesus is!

As a family, read “Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand” (Matthew 14:13–21) together. Then, watch this week’s lesson video on the eKidz Online YouTube page to continue the conversation.

Bible Story: Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand (Matthew 14:13–21)
Main Point: Jesus is great, and He gives us what we need.
Memory Verse: “Lord, there is no one like you! You are great, and your name is full of power.” Jeremiah 10:6 (NLT)

This week, children heard about a huge crowd of people who were hungry — and there were only five loaves of bread and two fish to feed them. It didn’t seem like enough, but Jesus multiplied it and there was more than enough to feed everyone. This story helps us understand that Jesus is great, and He gives us what we need!

💬 Family discussion questions:

  1. What happened in the Bible story? (Jesus was talking to a big crowd of people and they got hungry.)

  2. What does this Bible story teach us? (Jesus saw the people were in need of food and He took care of them by giving them what they needed. Jesus is great, and He gives us what we need!)

🕰 Engage in everyday moments together this week:

  • When You Get Up: When your child wakes up, say, “Good morning! Did you know Jesus is great? He loves us and gives us what we need every day.”

  • While You’re At Home: Practice the memory verse together:

“Lord, (hand in an L-shape)
there is no one like You! (shake head ‘no’)
You are great, (thumbs up)
and Your name is full of power.” (flex muscles)
Jeremiah 10:6 (open hands like a Bible)

  • As You’re On The Way: As you drive or walk, say, “Jesus knows what we need! We can remember He is great and takes care of us!”

  • When You Lie Down: At bedtime, talk about ways Jesus has given you what you needed. Then pray together, “Dear Jesus, thank You for being so great. Thank You for loving us and giving us what we need. Please help us remember You are always with us. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.”
