May Overview: The Bible teaches us how to care for others. In the Bible, we see God’s people — and Jesus — showing care by praying, helping, forgiving, sharing, and inviting others. This month, preschoolers will learn we can care for others too!

Bible Story: The Church Prays for Peter (Acts 12:4-8)
Main Point: I can care for others by praying.
Memory Verse: “Be kind and compassionate to one another.” Ephesians 4:32a

As a family, read the Bible story together. Then, watch this week’s lesson video on the eKidz Online YouTube page to continue the conversation.

This week, children heard how Peter was in prison, and the church prayed and asked God to help him. They trusted God to take care of Peter even when they couldn’t be there. This story reminds us we can care for others by praying too!

💬 Family discussion questions:

  1. What happened in the Bible story? (Peter was in prison, and the church prayed for him.)

  2. How can we care for others? (By praying for them.)

🕰 Engage in everyday moments together this week:

  • When You Get Up: Say, “Good morning! Let’s think of someone we can pray for today.”

  • While You’re At Home: Pray together for friends or family who need help.

  • As You’re On The Way: Say, “We can care for others by talking to God about them.”

  • When You Lie Down: At bedtime, remind your child, “We can care for others by praying.” Then pray together, “Dear God, thank You for hearing our prayers. Please help the people we prayed for today. Help us remember we can always talk to You. We love You. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.”
