What We Are Learning In Preschool :: November Week 3
This Week in Preschool :: I can thank God for food.
Main Point: I can thank God for food.
Bible Story: Manna and Quail ● Exodus 16
As a family, read “Manna and Quail” (Exodus 16) from the Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)
After reading the Bible story, discuss these questions together:
What happened in the Bible story? (God’s people were traveling through the desert, and were very hungry. God sent bread called manna every morning and birds called quail every evening.)
God gave His people food everyday. Can you thank God for food? (yes)
This week, engage in everyday moments to continue the conversation:
Morning Time: When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say, “Good morning, (child’s name)! Before we get up, let’s thank God for our food. Thank You, God, for (take turns naming foods).”
Cuddle Time: Cuddle with your child and pray, “God, I will give thanks to You with my whole heart for food. Thank You for (name foods).”
Bath Time: Add toy food items and a sponge to bath time. Encourage your child to wash the toy food. Talk about how God gave His people food in the desert and how we can thank Him for our food too.
Drive Time: While you’re driving, every time you pass a place that makes or sells food, say together, “Thank You for food, God!”
