What We Are Learning In Preschool :: September Week 1
Main point: God has good things for me to do.
Bible story: Adam and Eve ● Genesis 1:27-28, 2:15, 19-20
As a family, read “Adam and Eve” (Genesis 1:27-28, 2:15, 19-20) from the Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)
After reading the Bible story, discuss these questions together:
What happened in the Bible story? (When God made everything, He made the first people and named them Adam and Eve. God had an important job for them to do!)
God had good things for Adam and Eve to do. Does God have good things for us to do too? (yes)
This week, engage in everyday moments to continue the conversation:
Morning Time: When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say: “Good morning, (child’s name)! Guess who loves you? You’re right! All of those people love you. And God loves you too! God loves you so, so, so much!”
Cuddle Time: Cuddle with your child and pray: “God, You love (child’s name) so much, and You have good things for them to do. Please help (child’s name) see the good things and do them.”
Bath Time: Add toy fruits, vegetables, and garden tools to bath time. Encourage your child to pretend they are working in a garden while they take a bath. Talk about how working in a garden was part of God’s plans for Adam and Eve.
Drive Time: While on the go, look for things that grow in a garden. (e.g., flowers, fruits, trees, etc.) Talk about how God had good things for Adam and Eve to do, like work and care for the garden, and God has good things for us to do too.
