What We Are Learning In Preschool :: September Week 2

September Overview: This month, preschoolers will continue learning that God helps us grow to be more like Him! As they learn about the fruit of the Spirit, they’ll see they can show God to others through the way they live.

Bible Story: David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17:32-37, 45-47)
Main Point: God is FAITHFUL! I can show faithfulness.
Memory Verse: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control." Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT)

As a family, read the Bible story together. Then, watch this week’s lesson video on the eKidz Online YouTube page to continue the conversation.

This week, children learned that David faced a giant named Goliath. David remembered how God had helped him before, so he trusted God to help him again. God is faithful — He always keeps His promises and can always be trusted. Because God is faithful, we can trust Him and choose to follow Him every day.

💬 Family discussion questions:

  1. What happened in today’s Bible story? (David trusted God to help him face Goliath.)

  2. Why did David know he could trust God? (David remembered how God had helped him before.)

  3. God is faithful and can always be trusted. What can you trust God to help you with?

🕰 Engage in everyday moments together this week:

  • When You Get Up: Tell your child, “God is faithful! That means we can always trust Him.” Ask, “What can you trust God with today?” Remind them God will be with them wherever they go.

  • While You’re At Home: Talk together about ways God has helped or cared for your family. Say, “Remembering how God has helped us before reminds us He is faithful and that we can trust Him today!”

  • As You’re On The Way: Play a remembering game! Take turns naming things God has given you or ways He has cared for you. After each one, say together, “God is faithful!”

  • When You Lie Down: Ask, “How did you trust God today?” Thank God for His faithfulness and for always being someone your family can trust. Ask Him to help you trust and follow Him again tomorrow.
