Main Point: I can trust God’s plans.
Bible Story: Baby Moses ● Exodus 2:1-10

As a family, read “Baby Moses” (Exodus 2:1-10) from the Bible. (CLICK HERE  for children’s Bible recommendations.)

After reading the Bible story, discuss these questions together:

  • What happened in the Bible story? (The mean king wanted to get rid of the baby boys, but Moses’ family wanted to keep him safe.)

  • God had a plan for Moses that kept Moses safe. Does God have a plan for you too? (yes)

This week, engage in everyday moments to continue the conversation:

  • Morning Time: When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say, “Good morning, (child’s name)! What are the plans for today? (Pause.) Those sound like some good plans. Do you know God has plans for you? He sure does! And we can always trust God’s plans.”

  • Cuddle Time: Cuddle with your child and pray, “God, I’m so glad we can trust Your plans for us. We can trust You because You are good, and You love us.”

  • Bath Time: Add a toy baby/character to bath time. Hide it in the bathtub area for your child to find (e.g., behind a shampoo bottle, under a washcloth, behind the soap, etc.). Talk about how baby Moses’ mom hid him to keep him safe. Then, Pharaoh’s daughter found him and kept him safe too! God’s plans are best!

  • Drive Time: While on the go, look for babies. How many babies can you find? Talk about how when Moses was a baby, his mommy hid him to keep him safe. Then, God sent Pharaoh’s daughter to find baby Moses and keep him safe. God had plans for Moses, and God has plans for us too!
