What We Are Learning In Preschool :: September Week 4
This Week In Preschool :: I can wait for God’s plan.
Main Point: I can wait for God’s plan.
Bible Story: Abraham and Sarah ● Genesis 12:1-3; 15:5-6; 18:1-14; 21:1-7
As a family, read “Abraham and Sarah” (Genesis 12:1-3; 15:5-6; 18:1-14; 21:1-7) from the Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)
After reading the Bible story, discuss these questions together:
What happened in the Bible story? (Abraham and Sarah waited a long time for a baby. Even though it took many years, God kept His promise, and they had a son just like God said.)
Can you wait for God’s plans too? (yes)
This week, engage in everyday moments to continue the conversation:
Morning Time: When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say,
“Good morning, (child’s name)! I’m so glad being your family is a part of God’s plans. I think you’re awesome, and I love you!”Cuddle Time: Cuddle with your child and pray, “God, waiting can be hard. It’s hard to wait for cookies to bake. It’s hard to wait for our birthday to get here. And it’s really hard to wait for Christmas morning! But we know Your plans are always best. Please help (child’s name) and me wait for You.”
Bath Time: Add bubbles to bath time. Scoop bubbles in your hand for your child to blow. Tell them to wait for you to say, “GO!” before they blow. Make your child wait longer and longer to blow the bubbles. Then, say, “You waited to blow the bubbles. And guess what! You can wait for God’s plans too!”
Drive Time: While on the go, talk about things you both have waited a long time for (like birthdays, Christmas morning, or other special days). Then say, “Abraham and Sarah waited a long time to have a baby. Then, they finally had one, just like God said they would! They waited on God’s plans, and we can wait for God’s plans too.”
