Sermon Highlights

  • Most of the efforts you make in your life that are most valuable are least visible at first.

  • When you don’t know it’s God calling you, sometimes you end up calling it something else.

  • God will use a season you didn’t select to develop you.

  • We don’t always hear from God, but it’s not because we lack access; it’s because we lack attention.

  • Sometimes, we have the Word of God in one ear and the world in the other.

  • There are things you are waiting on God to manifest, and He’s waiting on you to mature.

  • How many times will God call you? As many times as it takes.

  • Keep going while waiting.

  • She wept, but she went up anyway.

  • Real faith is sometimes as simple as: go back.

  • I’m not feeling good, but I’m doing good.

  • God isn’t ignoring you; He’s positioning you.

  • You can’t hear if you’re not here. Keep coming.

  • What God does is His business. What you do until He does is worship.

Sermon Discussion

Conversation Starter

  • Pastor Steven talked about the songwriter who still cuts his own grass because he can see immediate results. What in your life gives you that satisfaction?

Discussion Questions

  • “What God does is His business. What I do until He does is worship.” As you wait for God's due time, how are you choosing to worship Him in the meantime?

  • “We don’t always hear from God, but it’s not because we lack access; it’s because we lack attention.” What is one practical way you can give God your attention this week?

Additional Questions

  • “I’m not feeling good, but I’m doing good.” Galatians 6:9 says we shouldn’t give up doing good. What’s something good in your life that you need to keep doing (or start doing) right now?

  • “God will use a season you didn’t select to develop you.” Looking back, can you think of a time in your life when you were in a place you didn’t want to be, but God had a purpose for you there?

  • “Most of the efforts you make in your life that are most valuable are least visible at first.” What’s an invisible consistency you need to commit to in your life right now?

Prayer

Ask this question to your eGroup and include it as part of your closing prayer:

Pastor Steven said, “When you don’t know it’s God calling you, sometimes you end up calling it something else.” What is something in your life right now that feels like a problem, but God might be using for a purpose?

Pray that each person in your eGroup will hear from God as they give Him their attention this week. Pray that each of them will be reminded that God hasn’t forgotten about them, but He’s positioning them. And pray that each of them will have the courage to keep coming back while they wait.
