Hold Your Peace
Holly Furtick
Sermon Highlights
Sometimes you have to hold your peace in order to hold your peace.
If trouble is the common denominator for all of us, peace is the x-factor.
Peace is the addition of power to whatever trouble you're in.
In battle, the first line of defense is to make sure your feet are stable with the gospel of peace.
Peace comes by the practice of three things: the practice of prayer, the practice of patterns, and the practice of praise.
Don’t talk about it anymore; instead, take it to the Lord in prayer.
My awareness of God’s presence is affected by my patterns.
Your peace and your priorities are directly connected.
We can drown out the sounds of the enemy with songs of praise.

Sermon Discussion
Conversation Starter
Pastor Holly talked a lot about shoes! Which “shoe camp” do you fall into: Do you pick shoes for practicality or for style?
Discussion Questions
“Peace comes by the practice of three things: the practice of prayer, the practice of patterns, and the practice of praise.” Which of these practices can you prioritize this week, and how?
“We can drown out the sounds of the enemy with songs of praise.” Put it into practice: share something you want to praise God for right now.
Additional Questions
“If trouble is the common denominator for all of us, peace is the x-factor.” When have you seen someone’s unexplainable peace be the “x-factor” – the thing that carried them through – in a challenging season?
“Your peace and your priorities are directly connected.” Where can you shift priorities to help you feel more at peace?
“My awareness of God’s presence is affected by my patterns.” Go around your group and share one pattern you have applied, or can apply, to gain access to God’s peace.
Prayer Prompt
Ask this question to your eGroup and include it as part of your closing prayer:
Pastor Holly taught us: “Peace is the addition of power to whatever trouble you're in.”
Ask your eGroup: Where are you needing God’s peace today? Pray that God will fill them with the unexplainable peace that only He can bring. Pray also that as each member practices God’s peace, they will be filled with God’s power to face this situation.
