Conversation Starters
What’s your favorite meal to make? If you don’t cook, what’s your favorite meal to eat?
April Fool’s Day is this Friday. What’s the best (or worst) practical joke you’ve ever seen played on someone?

Discussion Questions
What’s an unexpected surprise or great moment you’ve seen “come together” over the past few months? (It could be a convenient parking space, a timely message, running into an old friend, etc.)
Read Romans 8:28. God doesn’t decide what is good based on your preference — His purpose comes first. How have you been putting your plan or preference before God’s purpose?
Read Ruth 4:11-17. In this passage, we see Ruth and Naomi come out of a place of famine and isolation into the blessing of provision. Pastor Steven reminded us, “Just because it tastes bad in isolation doesn’t mean it won’t serve a purpose in the finished product.” Share one way you’ve experienced this truth in your life.
Pastor Steven reminded us God is with us in our bitterness and brokenness. How does this truth encourage you for where you are right now?
Naomi went to a place of bread called Moab, but still experienced famine. As Christians, many of us still deal with depression, addiction, and other issues. How are you believing God is still mixing ingredients in your life to work these issues out for the greater good?
Every Rachel comes with a Leah. Everything you love is going to come with something you don’t. How can that truth help you navigate something differently in this season? (If you knew Leah would come with it, would you still want Rachel?)
How do you need to “get out of God’s kitchen” and let Him work?
Act On It
Take a moment each day this week to think about a bitter ingredient in your life. Thank God for it, and trust Him to use it as “grease in your eggs” to bless you.
Prayer
Father, thank You for all the many ways You work to bless and keep us. Help us trust You with all the ingredients, knowing You are working all things together for the good of all who love You and are called according to Your purpose. In Jesus’ name, amen.
