Same Lies New Loops
Pastor Steven Furtick
Sermon Highlights
Sometimes you have to change what you say to yourself.
The enemy isn’t creative, but he’s consistent. The devil only has two lies that he tells: “It’s not enough” and “You're not loved.”
How do we get from “I had hoped” to “I have hope”?
When you change what you say, you'll change what you see.
You cannot be full of bitterness if you expect to be filled with peace.
You have help!
When the enemy lies to you, he’s loud because he can’t get to you. When God tells you the truth, He whispers because He’s close to you.
New loop: It’s not about circling your hurt, it’s about summoning your help.

Discussion Questions
“The enemy isn’t creative, but he’s consistent. The devil only has two lies that he tells: ‘It’s not enough’ and ‘You're not loved.’” Which of these lies has the enemy used most to keep you in a loop, and how have you stayed anchored in God’s truth when it gets loud?
“It’s not about circling your hurt, it’s about summoning your help.” Share a time you were able to move from circling your hurt to summoning God’s help.
Revelation 12:11 says they triumphed over the enemy by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony. Share a testimony of something God has helped you overcome today.
Additional Questions
“When you change what you say, you'll change what you see.” What have you been telling yourself that needs to change so you can gain a better perspective?
“When the enemy lies to you, he’s loud because he can’t get to you. When God tells you the truth, He whispers because He’s close to you.” What makes it hard to discern God’s whisper in a noisy world? What’s helped you hear Him better?
Prayer Prompt
Ask this question to your eGroup and include it as part of your closing prayer:
Pastor Steven asked, “How do we get from ‘I had hope’ to ‘I have hope’?”
Ask your eGroup: What’s one challenge you’re facing this week that you’ll actively choose to have hope in?
Thank God for this week’s message and the time spent in group together. Pray that everyone in your eGroup would continue to place their hope in God this week as they keep their eyes fixed on Him. Pray for the strength to start changing what they say so they can see victory over the enemy’s lies.
