The Power Of Dependency
Lisa Harper
Sermon Highlights
If we want to mature as Christ-followers, we should become increasingly more dependent on God.
If you want to be completely well, it will change everything.
It’s so exhausting to pretend we don’t need more healing.
God came for those who recognize they’re sick.
Do you want to be healed, or do you want to be comfortable?
It’s in the weak place of the valley that we learn how kind and strong God is.
Deep intimacy with Jesus requires conscious neediness. You’ve gotta learn to be needy with Jesus.
Questions to consider:
Do you trust Jesus enough to become solely dependent on Him?
Is being His beloved more important to you than any other role you have?
Is Jesus a highlight in your story, or is he the sole author?
Which is more important to you: comfort or healing?

Prayer Prompt
Ask this question to your eGroup and include it as part of your closing prayer:
Lisa taught us: “God came for those who recognize they’re sick.” Ask your eGroup: Where in your life do you want to start being real with God and open about your need for Him?
Pray that each of your eGroup members will find comfort in knowing that God calls them and loves them exactly as they are — they don’t need to change anything about themselves for God to love them and heal them. Pray they continue to grow in their dependence on God as they grow in Him.
