This Is My Bible
Pastor Chad Veach
Sermon Highlights
Whatever you’re around gets on you, gets in you, and comes out of you.
Reading your Bible allows God to start doing something in your heart and your life.
God’s Word:
Is God speaking directly to me.
Is useful, and I should use it.
Will set me straight.
Points me straight to Jesus.
When you get God’s Word in your heart, it will pour out of your mouth.
You don’t know when you’ll need God’s Word, so store it up for the right time.
We fall in love with God's Word so that we can fall in love with Jesus
Scriptures
2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV - All scripture is God-breathed
2 Timothy 3:16-17 NKJV - Inspiration of God
Sermon Discussion
Conversation Starter
Pastor Chad Veach said he used to order a Grande Vanilla Latte every morning at Starbucks. If you had to have the same morning coffee order every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Discussion Questions
Pastor Chad Veach said that the Bible is useful for content in any role of our lives. In which current role or responsibility in your life do you need to embrace God’s Word more often?
“Whatever you’re around gets on you, gets in you, and comes out of you.” Where have you seen this principle play out in your own life? What does getting the Word of God “in” look like for you?
Additional Questions
“When you get God’s Word in your heart, it will pour out of your mouth.” Who’s someone that comes to mind when you think of having “God’s Word in their heart,” someone who has helped remind you of God’s word when you needed it most?
“You don’t know when you’ll need God’s Word, so store it up for the right time.” Has a Bible verse ever come to mind exactly when you needed it? How did it impact that moment?
Prayer Prompt
Ask this question to your eGroup and include it as part of your closing prayer:
Pastor Chad Veach said, "Reading your Bible allows God to start doing something in your heart and your life."
Ask your eGroup: What's coming up this week that you need to lean on God for either teaching, correcting, or guiding?
Thank God that He has given us His Word so we can know Him more. Thank Him that we don’t need to look any further than His Word to get a word from Him. Ask Him to continue to give every eGroup member a hunger to dive into His Word as they go about their week. And as they approach scripture, ask that He meets them with wisdom, guidance, and trust for every situation they encounter.
