
Middle School Week 1 (June 1): A Moment At A Well
Series Overview – I Need A Moment
A moment with Jesus can change anything.
Our hearts. Our minds. Our health, our choices, our future… Nothing is off the table when it comes to what He can change in an instant.
There are many stories in the Bible showing people who experienced such shifts. Over the next two weeks, we’re going to explore two of those stories to see what Jesus did — and how the people He touched were changed after their encounter with Him.
Series Verses:
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21)
Discussion Goal: Jesus opens our eyes to truth.

Would you rather be able to see through walls all the time, see in the dark at night, or see into the future once per week? Why?

Have you ever had a moment where you suddenly understood something you didn’t before? (e.g., how a process works, someone else’s perspective, a tough problem, etc.) What happened to help you “see” it more clearly?
Read John 4:4-30 and 39-41. Jesus opened the eyes of the woman at the well. What did He help her see? What changed because of what Jesus showed her?
When we say “Jesus opens our eyes to truth,” what does that mean to you? How can following Jesus help us see our lives, our future, and even our past in a new light?
Pray: Jesus, thank You for meeting us where we are to show us truth. Help us look to You when we’re confused or thinking about something the wrong way so You can guide us to something better, and let what You show us cause a response in us that honors You. In Your name, amen.

What’s a truth Jesus has helped you see? How did that change the way you think or act?
Read Isaiah 43:18-19. Sometimes it’s hard to see what Jesus wants to show us now because we’re thinking about the past or even feeling ashamed of it. What do you think Jesus would say to us about the parts of our story we wish we could erase?
The woman at the well went and told others about Jesus because of what He showed her. What are some things you can share with others because of what Jesus has shown you?
