“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us… ” (Ephesians 3:20)


Discussion Goal: Big steps require boldness, but they also build it.

What’s the boldest thing you’ve ever done?

Leader Tip: Choose questions that resonate with your group’s age, experiences, and current understanding. There’s no pressure to cover all the questions — pick the ones that fit your group the best.  

  • Read Mark 12:41-44. What might have looked like a small thing was actually a very bold step by the widow. What can we learn from this?

  • Big steps require boldness. When you think about faith, what could be some examples of “big steps”? How can those also build our faith when we do them?

  • Mary didn't argue with Judas or defend herself — she focused on Jesus. When you face criticism for your faith choices, what can help you stay focused on your relationship with God rather than getting defensive or worried about what others think? How can this actually build our faith rather than tear it down?

Pray: Jesus, show us where in our life we can take big steps in boldness that will both show our faith and grow our faith. Help us see where we need to make bold moves for You and the calling You’ve given each of us. In Your name we pray, amen.

  • When you think of bold faith in the Bible, what are some examples that come to mind? What are some things that hold you back from acting in bold faith? (e.g., peer pressure, fear, doubt, etc.)

  • Read Luke 21:1-4. The widow gave "all she had to live on." What would it look like for you to give God something that actually requires trust rather than just giving Him what’s convenient?

  • Tell the group a “big step” you’d like to take by the end of the year. How can the group support you?
