High School Week 4 (September 24): Surround Ourselves With Bold People

Discussion Goal: We can learn to live boldly by surrounding ourselves with others who are doing the same.

You can pick any celebrity in the world to be your friend. Who would it be and why?

Think about your friend group. Do they challenge you in your faith? Do you challenge them?
Read Proverbs 27:17. What's the difference between someone who sharpens you and someone who just makes you feel good about yourself?
Read Proverbs 13:20 and 1 Corinthians 15:33. The Bible makes it clear that we need to be very careful who we surround ourselves with. How have you seen someone’s friendship choices affect them for good or for bad? How do these passages challenge you in thinking about your friends or the people you spend time with?
Pray: Jesus, thank You for this group, where we can learn more about You and how to grow in our faith. Place people in our lives who will sharpen us, and help us be someone who sharpens others. In Your name we pray, amen.
