Middle School YTHX – Worship Experience #1
DISCUSSION GOAL:
God has made a place just for us, and believing that can change how we live.
REVIEW
Ask youth to share their favorite points from the sermon, what spoke to them, a phrase or moment from the sermon they related to the most, or questions they have. If youth have a hard time recalling the sermon, talk through your notes and share your favorite points.
READ SCRIPTURE
Read the main scripture passages used in the sermon:
Read John 14:1-2.
Read Psalms 27:4.
GROUP DISCUSSION: Explore The Scripture
What stands out to you in John 14:1-2? Why?
Jesus says there are "many rooms" in His Father's house. What do you think that tells us about God’s heart for people?
What does it mean to you that Jesus is preparing a place for you — not just for everyone, but for you?
In Psalms 27, why do you think David said this was the “one thing” he wanted? What are the things people your age usually chase after? How would life look different if God's presence became your biggest priority?
GROUP DISCUSSION: Apply It To Your Life
Have you ever gone to someone's house for the first time? How did you go in? Do you act that same way in God’s presence?
If you fully believed God had made a special place for you where you belong, what would change in your day-to-day life? (e.g., How would your thoughts, feelings, or actions be different?)
“If you are in the Father’s House, you have access to everything the Father has.” Pastor Tori also said God’s house is full of everything you need. (e.g., joy, peace, hope, etc.) What do you need most from God’s house? How can the group pray for you in that?
PRAYER PROMPT:
Dear God, thank You for inviting us into Your house. Throughout the rest of YTHX, help us understand how much You love us and what it is You want to do in our lives. Help us come to know You as the good father You are. We’re so grateful You chose us. In Jesus’ name, amen.
